ONGOING ACCREDITATION TRAINING
As part of Thirsk Hockey Clubs continuing “ClubsFirst” Accreditation with England Hockey and Sport England a number of club coaches, team managers and young leaders attended a First Aid course at Thirsk Athletic Sports and Social Club.Bev Longthorne Junior coordinator stated “we have been able to run this course for our club members as we have received financial support from Grassroots Grant!!! . Without this support by applying for grants we would find it difficult to provide these course’s for our coaches and volunteers”.At the end of the session everyone came away having learnt something new. Young leader Liza Makin saying “it was very good and very useful to learn the skills to help someone if they need first aid”.For over 16’s this qualification is now valid for 3 years, and keeps the club up to date with training courses.
