Rosedale Show

Having been to the Yorkshire Show a couple of times I did not know what to expect when we decided to visit the Rosedale Show this year. Knowing the President, Arthur Carter, we thought we might as well see what was going on. Arthur said we had to be early as parking would be a problem. What a surprise on reaching the field, cars, cars, everywhere and people, people everywhere. After saying the magic words that Arthur had invited us, a park close to the main ring was available, next to the tent where refreshments awaited. However, there was so much to see, so off to visit the animals. Lots and lots of them, sheep, calves, bullocks, horses, ponies, rabbits and chickens just to mention a few. The produce tent had to be seen to be believed. There were also lots of stalls selling their wares, and food and ice cream was available. I was so intrigued by it all and could only wonder at all the effort which had been put in. Back to the ring to watch the animals parading round. It was all too soon to say goodbye but other arrangements had been made for later in the day, so back home feeling so happy and still wondering about all the effort which had been put in. I did put my name down for a programme for next year as I intend to swell the exhibits a little. My appreciation to all at Rosedale for such a good day. To add to our pleasure the weather was kind!
