Show woe is makes World of Herriot’s day

The cancellation of the Great Yorkshire Show after one drenched day was a disaster for exhibitors, competitors and visitors. A surprise gainer was the World of James Herriot. Christopher Timothy, who played James Herriot on TV, was due to be on the Welcome Yorkshire stand at the Show, along with Rosie Paige and the iconic Austin 7, beautifully restored over the winter. Instead they were in Kirkgate on Wednesday, a great surprise for visitors.
