THIRSK CLOCK HOLDS COMMUNITY FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Thirsk Clock recently organised a successful Five-a-Side community football tournament at Carlton Lodge Outdoor Centre at Carlton Miniott that attracted 55 participants and supporters.Seven teams (including one adult team) took part in the competition and the final turned out to be a very close fought contest. During extra time the referee, Chris White, disallowed a controversial “golden goal” and the tie ultimately had to be decided on penalties. The worthy winners of the tournament were the team “Mean Machines” who eventually beat the Adult Team by 3 goals to 2.Afterwards everyone enjoyed the free barbecue which was provided and had an opportunity to register their interest in the Thirsk Clock Summer Activities Programme, for which forms are currently available for anyone interested from the Clock Youth Café in the Market Place. The next football tournament is to be held at the end of August on the Astroturf at Thirsk School. Team entry forms for this are also available at Thirsk Clock.
