THIRSK WATER POLO CHAMP

Thirsk swimmer, Jessica Millar, has won a place in the GB junior water polo squad.And the 15 year old is training hard as she bids to be selected for the junior European championships next year.She trains with the Thirsk White Horse Swim Team as well as spending time at GB training days in Manchester.   And that has been helped with a grant from Hambleton District Council’s talented young sportspersons pot.For the last two years Jessica (pictured) has been selected to attend the regional and national water polo training days at Newton Aycliffe, Manchester and Walsall. She plays for the Harrogate Sport Walkers in the National League and has recently been involved with a tour to France to take on one of the country’s top teams – Bordeaux, a fixtured that resulted in a win for Harrogate. Thirsk White Horse Swim Team trains daily at Thirsk Pool with swimmers of all ages.
