THIRSK'S GOT TALENT

Bonnie Sanderson was crowned winner of ‘Thirsk Got Talent’ last weekend in a competition staged as part of the town’s music festival.The 12 year old from Thirsk beat off seven other acts – children and adult singers and dancers – to take the title.  She was judged top of the pile by Sue Brimelow, Robin Ward and Chris Hakin.It was the first time a talent contest was held as part of the festival – which attracted around 1000 people to the Market Place on August 10. It also featured performances by local bands – the British Legion Band, Ozzy, Dead Beat Dawn, Borderline, Blue Jupiters, Atomic Blondie and Pop Trash.   The event came to a close with a performance by the Bryan Adams Experience.
