TOP TV COMIC TO PERFORM IN THIRSK

Comedian Jo Caulfield, a regular face on the likes of TV hits ‘Have I Got News for You’, ‘Mock the Week’ and ‘Never Mind the Buzzcocks’ and star of her own hit Radio 4 series ‘It’s that Jo Caulfield Again’ makes a special appearance at The Other Side Comedy Club, held monthly at Aspire, Market Place, Thirsk on Tuesday 4th November 8.15pm. The minute Jo Caulfield hits the stage you know you are in for a good time. Nominated as ‘Best Female Stand up’ (Chortle Awards) and one of ‘The 100 Greatest Stand Ups’ (Channel 4), she’s a sharp-witted, wonderfully bitchy comedian, simply holding forth on whatever subjects vex her: Badly behaved children, ‘loved-up’ couples, greedy property developers, geeky autograph collectors, mirrored bathrooms, institutionalised sexism and senior citizens who over expose themselves in Stirling will all feel the brunt of Jo’s acerbic tongue.With a string of 5 Star reviews behind her for her legendary solo shows, she’s sold out for the last 6 years at the Edinburgh Fringe, The Evening Standard called Caulfield ‘wonderfully sharp and bitchy … one of the finest female comics at work’. However a review of this years show at BBC.co.uk perhaps most succinctly captures the Jo Caulfield experience in reporting ‘Jo’s show at best could be described as a non stop laughter fest. It’s easy to see why she’s in such demand, and why her shows sell out so quickly wherever she goes. It’s a great night out that nobody should miss’.
