Wonderwoman Retires Linda Carter of Thirsk CP School Retires

After 17 years of teaching at Thirsk Community Primary School, Linda Carter has finally hung up her mortar board and gown! On the final day of term Linda was presented with a laptop, a bouquet of flowers and a book of memories in a final celebration assembly. This was a very special moment for everyone associated with Linda over the years as colleagues, pupils and parents, past and present, said their fond farewells. What made the occasion extra special was the fact that she had never had a day off school in the whole of her teaching career which started in 1971. This is an ‘awesome’ achievement.Mrs Carter is pictured here being presented with a bouquet by Hollie McKenzie and Sam Burn.
