Summer sees the return of evening races, included in our Club Championship was the Redcar Spring Coastal 5k. Report from Luke Barletta.

As expected from a coastal run, the course was lovely and flat - a simple two-lap route along the seafront, just a short walk from the rugby club.

With the biting cold, most runners made sure to get a decent warm-up in, and members of Thirsk and Sowerby Harriers gathered at the start line, sticking together for warmth.

Race tactics were already being discussed - hug the inside line, use others for wind protection… all the important stuff!
