Talking Thirsk - Annual Emergency Services Day

Visitors were greeted with the real thing, as the annual Emergency Services Day was celebrated, with the attendance of Fire, Ambulance, Police plus some other examples of volunteer life saving efforts that are more under the radar.

I had never heard of Blood Bikes, ridden by volunteers originally to deliver blood donations, but now more often, I am told, to get medications to where they are needed, or take samples from patients to Pathology Labs.
